Could reason to end drone program apply to Seattle's surveillance cams?

Mayor Mike McGinn called the decision to end the city's drone program "pragmatic." He noted public concerns about the use of surveillance technology. Could the same reasoning be applied to 30 security cameras recently installed along the waterfront?
