Oregon Zoo says baby elephant will stay put

The calf, which is owned by a traveling elephant rental company, will remain at the zoo in perpetuity, Oregon Zoo director Kim Smith said Tuesday morning during a hastily called press conference to deal with the fallout of a Seattle Times story.
