A woman was killed Thursday after a head-on collision on State Route 520 in Seattle. Troopers arrested the other driver and say alcohol may have been a factor. Court records indicate the suspect was already awaiting trial for DUI.

The crash between an SUV and a sedan happened at Montlake Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. The Washington State Patrol said the SUV driver, 25-year-old Michael Anthony Robertson of Tacoma, went the wrong way in the eastbound lanes.

Both people had to be extricated from their vehicles. The victim, 58-year-old Morgan Williams of Seattle, was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she died.

Robertson was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault. He had injuries to his lower leg.

Court records indicate Robertson has no DUI convictions, but is awaiting trial on a DUI from December 15, 2012.

The eastbound lanes were closed for more than two hours during the investigation.

Troopers are trying to figure out where Robertson got on SR 520 or if he did a U-turn on the freeway.

"We are hoping someone will come forward with information that could help us out,” said Sgt. John Sager, Washington State Patrol.

The Washington State Patrol is asking witnesses who may have seen the driver heading the wrong way to call them at (425) 649-4370.
