Long stretches of some highways in Western Washington remained closed Thursday afternoon due to downed trees and heavy snow.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said a 25 mile stretch of US 101 in Mason County was closed between Brinnon Lane and Schoolhouse Hill Road.
State Route 106 in the Hood Canal area is closed for five miles between Purdy Cutoff Road and Dalby Road.
The Mount Baker Highway, State Route 542, is closed indefinitely east of Maple Falls. The Mount Baker Ski Area is closed.
Drivers on Interstate 90 could also expect intermittent closures for avalanche control over Snoqualmie Pass.
