A female black bear that was captured near Fall City early Wednesday morning was released back into the wild on Friday.
The 225-pound bear was captured after man reported the bear in his garage while he was working last week. The Department of Fish and Wildlife said its original plan was to move this bear far away from the area where it was captured, but biologists discovered the bear is lactating, so they released it in the same area so it could return to its cubs.
The department then decided to release it back into the same area with a tactic to scare the bear into not returning to the same spot.
The bear was fitted with a collar so Fish and Wildlife can keep their eyes on it.
