SEATTLE, Wash. -- The veterans on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team have a motto: "Life without a limb is limitless."
"When you are rehabbing, you are looking for something to motivate you and get you back into it. And for me it was softball," veteran Nick Clark said.
Clark, a Puyallup resident, is one of the original members of the national team. He lost his leg while serving in Afghanistan in 2007.
Clark and his teammates played against coaches and staff members from Seattle University Sunday night at Logan Field. They also played an exhibition game Saturday night in Tacoma
"They are an amazing group of athletes," Seattle University softball coach Dan Powers said.
The softball team is made up of veterans from across the country. There are several veterans on the team from Washington.
"It's rewarding to take the field with amputees just like myself," Washington veteran Mike Dreyer said.
The team wants to raise awareness and highlight the sacrifice of the men and women who serve in the military.
