After the US Women's Hockey Team won silver at the Vancouver Olympic Games the popularity of the sport spiked in the Pacific Northwest, although not everyone knows how to get involved.
The Seattle Women's Hockey Club wants all women 18+ to have the opportunity to play the sport so they are offering a free camp this weekend called "Give Hockey a Try". It will be held on Saturday at Kingsgate Arena in Kirkland and all of the equipment, ice time and coaching will be provided.
"We saw a double in attendance at our Give Hockey a Try event last year and hope to know see double that this year. We're definitely seeing a pick-up in the popularity," said Lora Tennant, President of the Seattle Women's Hockey Club.
