1. Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2011-12 season opens Friday night with a program of dances by Christopher Wheeldon, one of the leading figures in contemporary dance. PNB is calling it "All Wheeldon." For more information, go to the Pacific Northwest Ballet website

2. Book-It Repertory Theatre's production of Jim Lynch's "Border Songs," a stage adaptation of a novel that was very popular here.
