Lynn Jacobson, features editor with The Seattle Times, stopped by KING 5 to talk about a few events happening in the Seattle area over the weekend. Here are links to resources and information for events October 19-21:
Hendrix Hits London
EMP Museum kicks off a Jimi Hendrix exhibition this Saturday, "Hear My Train a Comin': Hendrix Hits London." It takes a deep look at a very short but momentous period in Hendrix's life, when he was just becoming the artist we now know. A concert with some of Seattle's biggest music names kicks things off Saturday. Check out a video about the exhibit.
Worn to be Wild
While you're at EMP, check out "Worn to Be Wild," a collection of leather jackets from the world of pop culture (movies and music). See jackets that helped define the persona of Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando and Michael Jackson. Clips of "The Wild One" by Marlon Brando are just one aspect of the exhibit.
Best of the Northwest
More than 250 artisans gather at Terminal 91 to peddle jewelry, clothing, paintings, glassworks and more, Friday through Sunday. This is the unofficial beginning of the holiday arts-and-crafts fair season; look for a long list of them this coming Sunday in the Seattle Times.
