The skies above Joint Base Lewis-McChord came alive Thursday as the United States Air Force Thunderbirds roared overhead.

The Thunderbirds are in town for the JBLM Air Expo at McChord Field on July 21 and 22.

The jets fly at speeds of up to 600 miles per hour.

One of the Thunderbirds is piloted by Washington State University graduate Captain Michael Fisher. He is the team's advance pilot and show narrator.

KING 5 photojournalist Randy Eng spent much of the day with the crowd watching the dare devil aerial maneuvers.

More information is on the Air Expo website.
