Friday night, the area around the apartment complex, where SPD Officer Brenton's suspected killer was shot and arrested, was still locked down until the crime scene investigation is wrapped up.

Cops are only killed because of their uniforms represent authority. It is senseless. It only opens a new position in the police department that is readily filled up. It also promotes anger among existing police officers that might make them paranoid of citizens and might possibly affect their community relations with the public they serve.
