SEATTLE -- King County Sheriff John Urquhart says he is pleased to hear that $50,000 owed for his extra patrols during the Seahawks victory parade is on the way.

In February, Urquhart devoted 65 deputies to the parade for additional coverage on Seattle city streets.

The deal was for the Seahawks to pay the costs needed for the additional coverage. A spokeswoman for the team says the 'Hawks paid the City of Seattle a lump sum for all the police resources used on that day. The check was cut on April 4.

The Seattle Mayor's Office says they are still in the process of paying the county, along with several other agencies who provided mutual aide for the parade.

The city says there was never an intention not to pay the county.

"Now I know it/s there," said Urquhart with a smile. "I'll be knocking on their door very soon!"
