SEATTLE - It's the season to celebrate scholars, and 35 foster youth really have something to cheer about.
They are recipients of the Governor's Scholarship, a full ride to any Washington college.
The scholarships are administered by the College Success Foundation and recognize the special needs of foster youth who "age out" and are forced to live on their own after high school.
Money is raised at an annual golf tournament and through private donors.
The speaker this year was a previous governor's scholar who left a drug-addicted mom and abusive dad and never looked back.
