OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Gov. Jay Inslee was joined by former Seahawks offensive tackle Walter Jones in raising a 12th Man flag outside the Capitol.

The Seahawks will face the New Orleans Saints on Saturday in the second round of the NFC playoffs, and Inslee issued a proclamation on Wednesday honoring the 13-3 team and calling for the upcoming Friday to be called “Seahawks Blue Friday.” About 200 fans and state workers wearing Seahawks jerseys gathered in a steady rain on the Capitol steps for the event.

Inslee and Lt. Gov. Brad Owen were presented with sample Seahawk license plates bearing their names before the flag was raised. Jones, who played for the Seahawks from 1997-2009, handled the final turns on the crank to raise the flag as Inslee tossed a football to Blitz, the Seahawks mascot.
