Research shows average Seattle rent is equal to average mortgage

Have you seen your rent go up lately? According to recent figures, it probably has.

New research has shown that the average rent in Seattle has increased three percent, making an average Seattle rent match the average mortgage on a typical Seattle home for the first time.

Real estate agents have noted this new phenomenon in the Seattle housing market. Higher rent has forced many out, but demand for houses has brought developers in, as they are selling units that were typically for rent.
