After 13 weeks at boot camp and a final 54 hours of training called "The Crucible", 357 recruits became U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in California Thursday.

In the Eagle, Globe and Anchor Ceremony, instructors recognized the recruits as members of the elite group.

A lieutenant colonel said that for many of these young, new Marines, "This is the biggest day of most of their lives."

KING 5's Christie Johnson joined us live from the ceremony, which included a local man, Private Kory Schilling.
