Erzebet Dorney traveled to Morocco, made friends, and won the support of an international custody rights group that worked with her around the clock to bring her boy home just in time for Christmas.

The anticipation filled the air at Seatac. The Dorney family was excited to finally welcome home Erzebet.

"She's always been sort of the gathering point of the family," said mother Margaret Dorney.

For 364 days life stood still for the Mercer Island family. Thousands of miles away in Morocco, Erzebet was fighting the courts and her estranged husband, fighting to bring home her three year old son back to Seattle.

"My grandson left the day after Christmas last year and I haven't seen him since," said Peter Dorney.

This family refused to give up, writing letters and supporting Erzebet as she navigated through the Morroccan court system. All for the moment when they can finally welcome the two home.

Erzebet and Yussuf arrived at Seatac Saturday afternoon to family and friends.

"I just told myself I wasn't going to come home without him," said Erzebet. "With so much love around, I'm really blessed."

Dorney has already gotten e-mails and calls for help from other women going through similar custody battles. King County prosecutors have filed first degree felony charges against Dorney's ex-husband for custodial interferance. He remains in Morocco.

What a wonderful story..I am happy for the mother and the son to be reunited. @vffrwm..You are so right when you speak of American's who marry foreigners of different religious beliefs and marrying them.. How many American born children fathered by men and women of different faith and in the end taking that child/children back to their homeland?? I remember the true story/ make into a movie "NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER" where this Muslim husband got his medical degree in America, practiced medicine and then took his wife and child by to his country and held them hostage.. Many true stories on Dateline, etc. about children being stolen by a parent and due to the laws these poor parents, more often than not, never see the child again! Ought to be a waring here to women about marrying or having children with men from other country's. Especially those countrys where this type of thing happens all the time. Americans have to get a grip on the fact that just because we have laws based on equality there are a lot of other places that don't. Like I said there should be a lesson here.i'm glad this lady got her child back, but how many will never see their children again?
