ELEANOR, W.Va. - While most parents want their kids to make good grades, for Lura Fisher a "B" apparently wasn't good enough.

Fisher's daughter, a 5th grader at George Washington Elementary School in Eleanor, West Virginia was met with embarrassment and abuse for the grade.

"We saw some bruising and whelps and red marks on the child's legs arms and, I think, a red mark on the child's face," Putnam County Sheriff Mark Smith said.

The girl's teacher noticed the bruises and reported the incident to police.

The girl told investigators she was whipped with a belt about 20 times, but even before that she was forced to stand outside her home in Eleanor as punishment until she threw up.

The girl says her mother then made her carry the vomit to the bathroom with her hands.

"There's discipline and then there's abuse, and this seemed to go a little bit too far, too much further than discipline," Smith said.

Fisher is a kindergarten teacher at Hometown Elementary School.

Fisher has been charged with child abuse resulting in injury and domestic battery.

This is disgusting! I hope the dad is a loving father and wasn't part of that mess. Let's hope he wasn't with that witch and can bring his daughter some joy in her young little life. Good job little one on the "B"...you did great! =)

If a "C" is average, then a "B" is above average. I personally think getting Bs is exceptionally great, and if you get all "A's" you're a freak not in a bad way though.
