RENTON, Wash. - As Olympic athletes were giving their all Sunday in Vancouver, B.C., some young athletes in Renton were busy raising money for their club.
The swimathon was a fundraiser for the Shadow Seals, a swim club for people with disabilities.
The club gives kids and adults a chance to experience a fun sport with a team environment.
"...And Ithink if you talk to all of these kids they'd probably say friendship and being around people is probably the coolest thing that they've enjoyed," said Kiko Van Zandt of the Shadow Seals.
Van Zandt says this club gives athletes a chance to follow their passion and maybe one day compete in the summer Paralympics
