With Halloween just three weeks away, consumers need to think ahead to avoid online retail scams.
Approximately 70 percent of Americans will take part in Halloween, spending an average of $80 on costumes, treats, and decorations.

Consumers can avoid retail scams by:
- planning ahead
- making purchases with a credit card
- using a secure website (a URL that starts with https:// )
- going to the Better Business Bureau website with any questions
