Moves are being made to double the size of the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. This comes after more than 300 conventions were turned away in the past five years because of its small size. Tourism officials estimate the city has lost more than $1.5 billion in potential revenue in that time.

A team of 20 Seattle tourism leaders is heading to an international convention this weekend to sell Seattle, but they say Seattle is crippled by lack of capacity.
