MONTESANO, Wash. - The beer cup is more than half full for Josh Springer.
His idea, born out of frustration, is now loading up cups and his cash flow.
“I was two margaritas deep when I came up with this,” says Springer. “That’s ironic.”
His “Bottoms Up” tap fills a specially-designed cup, as it says: An upside down approach to conventional wisdom. The cups have holes, with magnets, that open and seal the beer at super speeds. Springer claims the tap can fill 56 beers in a minute.
“It doesn’t mess up the beer,” he says. “Beer needs to be treated like a lady.”
“Bottoms Up” is being used by distributors across the country, including at Las Vegas’ Thomas and Mack Center, where food and beverage manager Joe Carter says it speeds up the process.
“We’ve built it into the infrastructure of what we do,” says Carter. “It really helps sales.”
