Three skiers were killed when they were caught in an avalanche in an out-of-bounds area near Stevens Pass ski area.

This is NOT the slide path that was involved yesterday. This is old path called Tunnel Point that the DOT controls. The snow on the highway is from the snow cat getting up on the bank.

Out of bounds area. While the deaths are regrettable, perhaps they were avoidable.
