Thousands ran through the streets of Seattle on Saturday morning for the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon.
It's been a little more than two months since the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon finishing line.
"I think it's empowering for people to say, we're not going to let things like that stop us from doing what we want to do,” said runner Emil Pierson
There was extra vigilance at Seattle's event.
“For year's it's been okay, but the way things are now, those are things we need to look at," said Dep. Troy Chaffee of the King County Sheriff's Office
That didn't keep Team Auffant from catching the conclusion themselves.
"Let's face it. We're at the finishing line. We know what happened in Boston," said Roberto Auffant.
Which is exactly why they DID come here. And why their shirts carried the slogan “Boston Strong.”
