The Washington State Patrol says the Metro bus tried to go around a slowed vehicle, but clipped the vehicle and went into oncoming traffic, striking a pickup truck at about 4:40 p.m. in the 20100 block of SE 436th. The 21-year-old pickup driver died and a passenger in that vehicle suffered minor injuries, as did a person in the vehicle Bus 915 tried to pass. The bus was on an express route from Auburn to Enumclaw, carrying three passengers and a female driver, according to Metro Transit.
