The Federal Aviation Administration is looking into a dangerous close-call in the skies over New York City involving two jets last week.

A Delta Boeing 747 cleared to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport missed an approach and flew in the same direction as another jet leaving the runway at LaGuardia Airport.

The two planes came within two hundred feet in the area of each other.

NBC's Tom Costello reports.
