SR 99 Tunnel Boring Machine Assembly

A crew member works atop the central section of the machine that will dig the SR 99 tunnel beneath downtown Seattle. At 57.5 feet in diameter, the machine will be the world’s largest of its kind. Tunneling will start in summer 2013.
