At least five vehicles were involved in a collision on northbound Interstate 5 in SeaTac Wednesday, creating a eight mile backup at the height of the morning commute.
By 9:30 a.m. the commute had almost returned to normal, with routes from the SeaTac area to Bellevue and Seattle only running eight to 10 minutes slower than average.
The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. at S. 188th Street. At one point, the backup extended to S. 320th Street in Federal Way.
An ambulance was on scene, but it’s not clear how badly those involved were injured.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
At one point, four of the five lanes were blocked.
