Seattle firefighters have put out a car fire downtown that was caused by a collision near 216 James Street.

Five vehicles were struck by a dump truck in the collision and three cars caught on fire, according to Seattle Police.

Medics transported the male driver of the truck to Harborview as a precaution. The driver and passenger were wearing seat belts.

Seattle Fire tweeted they were searching the burned car to see if it was occupied.

Traffic is delayed in the area. Seattle Department of Transportation tweeted that 3rd Avenue was back open by 2:30 p.m., but James was still blocked.
