Seattle's Interstate 90 floating bridge will be closed off and on Thursday and then again during the rest of the week as the Blue Angels practice for Seafair.

The closure will force drivers to choose between either paying a toll on the SR 520 floating bridge or taking the long way around Lake Washington.

I-90 will be closed Thursday between 9:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and then from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Click here to see all the Blue Angels closures.

Since tolls were instituted on SR 520 at the end of last year, more drivers have shifted to taking I-90 where it's still free to drive across.

Tolls on 520 during Thursday's closure will be either cost $2.87 with a Good to Go pass, or $4.41 without one. Click here for a schedule of tolling rates.

As for other commute options, heading south and taking I-405 around the lake is an extra 15 miles and additional 25 minutes.

SR 522 through Kenmore would add an extra 30 miles from Seattle to Bellevue, and an extra 36 minutes.

A short-term Good to Go account can be set up within 72 hours of using the 520 bridge. It will save drivers 50 cents per trip. So if a driver crosses 520 today, he or she could set up the account tomorrow (or up to 72 hours later) and it would apply to today's crossing.

Correction: Thank you WSDOT for clarifying this last paragraph! We've updated to correct the previous error.
