This structure has the tallest towers of the conceptual designs. It is lighter on the environment, thinner, and creates less shadow than the girder bridge. The towers and cables are more visible compared to the girder bridge. Cables draw on the nautical theme of the nearby yacht club; the angles and triangles are reminiscent of the sloping hillside and Mount Rainier; the “W” form tower support is a nod to the University of Washington; tapered tower elements carry the forms seen in the floating bridge sentinel designs.
