SEATTLE - Sound Transit officials say the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open for bus service on Thursday.

The tunnel has been closed for more than a week due to computer problems. Beginning Thursday, it will operate on its regular schedule.

This morning officials said the computer problems that closed the tunnel appear to be solved. A spokeswoman for the regional transit agency, Linda Robson, said Tuesday that some circuit boards were replaced. Robson says officials believe the switch has fixed problems in the system that lets operators control signals, ventilation and other functions.

The tunnel was closed because of a computer failure on Dec. 17. It was reopened the next day but was closed again a day later and buses have been rerouted onto surface streets since then.
