The Amtrak train hit the rear end of the car as it crossed the tracks.

MARYSVILLE, Wash. - One person was seriously injured when an Amtrak train hit the car they were driving.

Police say the car was going southbound and made a right turn, going under the crossing arm. The car was hit either in the front or the rear, spinning it around. It hit another car and then a telephone pole.

The witness said firefighters used the jaws of life to get the male driver out of the car.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

No one on board the train was hurt.

The car was badly damaged.
