ISSAQUAH, Wash. – Two Bellevue women have been arrested, accused of basically trying to steal an elderly man’s money through marriage.

Issaquah Police arrested the women Thursday for investigation of kidnapping and theft.

Police say Adult Protective Services contacted them about the incident.

According to court documents, the 78-year-old man was tricked by his 56-year-old massage therapist into marriage.

She and her 29-year-old friend took him from his senior home to Bellevue District Court on November 22. A marriage ceremony was performed between the man and the 56-year-old woman.

Afterward, police say, the two women took the man to his Bank of America and tried unsuccessfully to take money out of his account.

Issaquah Police arrested the two women Thursday night. Both were booked into the King County Jail pending charges.
