CAMANO ISLAND, Wash. - Dressed in camouflage and armed with rifles, members of at least two separate law enforcement agencies are in an all out search for a teenage burglar who was spotted late Thursday night.

Colton Harris-Moore, 17, has been on the run for months since escaping from a group home in Renton. He was ordered to live there after his arrest last year for breaking and entering. He was caught after a string of burglaries across the island.

The Island County Sheriff's Office say at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy tried to stop a speeding car that was being driven erratically on South Camano Drive. The driver turned into the entrance of the Elger Bay Store, bailed out why the car was still moving and ran off on foot. The car ended up hitting a dumpster and damaging part of the store.

The driver matches Moore's description. The car was later reported stolen. Inside, there were more items that had been reported stolen.

A K-9 was unable to track Moore down immediately.

Police are searching for Colton Harris-Moore.

Moore is accused of breaking into dozens of homes and then disappearing into the woods of Camano Island. Residents are being warned to keep their vehicles locked, secure their homes at night and remain alert to suspicious activity.

Anyone who has information on where to find Moore is asked to call the Island County Sheriff's Office immediately.
