MOSES LAKE, Wash. - An injured motorcycle rider spent two days next to I-90 near Moses Lake hoping to be rescued.

The Grant County sheriff's office says Brad Beckstrom, a 44-year-old Moses Lake man, was riding his motorcycle Sunday afternoon on an I-90 frontage road when he lost control and was thrown 30 feet down a steep embankment.

For two days, no one knew he was there. Despite broken bones and serious internal injuries, he was able to pull of his sweatshirt and toss it 30 feet up into a roadside bush.

It was a red flag and that's what was noticed Tuesday by a state trooper Ron Huxtable who was out looking for Brad..

Deputies and the Washington State Patrol had been looking for Beckstrom after his employer reported he failed to show up Monday for work.

He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Brad and his family have been told he will be paralyzed below the waist. While he wishes things were different, his father said Brad is ready to move on and face the challenges in his second chance at life.
