Naked sex offender interrupts woman's shower

EVERETT, Wash. – A woman kept her calm and managed to get help after a convicted sex offender broke into her home, took off his clothes and entered her bathroom while she was showering last week.
Police say the suspect, Christopher Charles Eddy, a.k.a. "Crazy Eddy," has a long criminal history with convictions for assault, harassment and child rape. It was only three days after his last release on April 26 that he broke into the woman's home.
Last Tuesday, the woman - whom KING 5 News is not identifying - was taking a shower in her Everett home. Her children were upstairs.
The shower curtain moved like someone had opened the door. When the woman looked, she saw a man standing there, naked from the waist down.
The victim's friend fills in the blanks:
"Escorted her into the bedroom by grabbing her wrist and when she got in there, she'd grabbed her cell phone and started dialing 911," said Aja Moore.
The victim made an excuse to go to another room. The suspect waited behind. When the victim told a 911 dispatcher what was happening, police came running.
"They tackled him in her living room and found his clothes sitting in the bushes," said Moore.
Eddy's last known address was in Marysville. He was living with his father who said Eddy suffers from Klinefelter's syndrome, which has affected his physical and mental development, and he also has a history of drug abuse.
Court records show that in 2004 he was convicted of raping a child. When he got out of prison, he failed to register as a sex offender. Last January, he was convicted of failing to register and got 90 days in jail, but was let out a month early for good behavior.
"That really makes me scared of what kind of system Washington's running," said Moore.
More than a week after the attack, the victim is still terrified for the safety of her family.
"I look out my window and I wonder who's the person that's walking by my house," she said. "Your main concern is the safety of your children. It's a very frightening situation to go through."
Eddy is now in the Snohomish County Jail on a charge of burglary with sexual motivation. His bail is set at $1 million.
His father said he feels for the victim and worries what will happen to his son.
