AUBURN, Wash. – Auburn residents are still cleaning up glass from shattered windshields after a BB gun rampage in Auburn caused damage to more than 100 cars and some homes.
Police say a pair of 17-year-old Auburn residents went on a midnight vandalism spree.
"That's outrageous. One car is too many," said Jim Collier whose driver's side window is gone. "I've got to buy a new window, install a new window. It was a cold ride to work."
Witnesses saw the teens shooting from their moving car and called in the license plate. Police made the arrest, but not before upwards of $15,000 in damage was done.
The reports are that they had nothing better to do and were out looking for some fun, so they decided to shoot out car windows.
Street after street, car after car, the damage is easy to spot. Some windows are gone, others are cracked or dinged. And there is plenty of body damage, too.
Police found that the two juveniles were responsible for the vandalism and recovered two BB guns from their vehicle.
Both juveniles have been transferred to the King County Juvenile Detention Center in Seattle where felony charges for vandalism will be considered.
