SEATTLE – A police chase that began when a stolen car was spotted in a 7-Eleven parking lot Wednesday morning came to an end with a car crash at Kinnear Park.

Seattle police say Eric Schoenlerber was riding a Metro bus when he spotted his stolen Honda parked at a 7-Eleven at Fourth Avenue and Denny.

He got off the bus and called police, who arrived on scene.

"Three cop cars swooped in, and it looked like they boxed him in pretty good," Schoenlerber said. "And the two guys occupying the vehicle busted through the police barricade, crashing into three cop cars and gunned it."

The suspect headed the wrong way down Fourth Avenue, and police followed.

Police say the suspect crashed the stolen car into a gate at Seattle's Kinnear Park.

"I thought wow, this is one hell of a chase," Schoenlerber said.

The suspect drove through lower Queen Anne to Kinnear Park, where he crashed into a gate.

Three police patrol cars were damaged in the incident. The driver of the Honda was injured, and his passenger was arrested.
