SEATTLE - A pit bull attack forced police to open fire near the Westwood Village shopping center in West Seattle Tuesday evening.
Animal Control had been called after two pit bulls bit a 60-year-old man and attacked his Chihuahua dog.
The pit bulls then ran around the neighborhood attacking a neighbor. A police officer stepped in, but the dogs charged him.
That's when the officer shot one of the dogs. The second dog was taken by Animal Control.
Neighbors said they have had to call Animal Control about these dogs before.
The man who was attacked was taken to the hospital. His wife tells KING 5 News he is expected to recover from his injuries.
