EVERGREEN, MT. -- Authorities in Kalispell have cancelled an Amber Alert for 3-year-old Loic Rogers after his body was discovered late Friday night in a septic tank. The cause of death was drowning.

Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan said police are investigating how he got into the septic tank, saying "it's too early to speculate."

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday for Rogers. About 200 people, including volunteers, joined the search.

Authorities said Loic's father last saw him at about 7 p.m. Wednesday after finishing dinner at a relative's house in Evergreen, near Kalispell.

Police said Loic's father told authorities he took the boy to the car and went back inside to get other children. He said when he returned to the car, Loic was gone.
