Football powerhouse Skyline (9-2) has won four out of the last six state championships, but lost to Federal Way 26-20 in the first round of 4A playoffs last year. The team is losing Defensive Lineman Josh Wright, who had a total 29 sacks and 156 tackles, and Guard Reggie Long, who went on to play at Central Washington. But head coach Mat Taylor is optimistic about the new crop of leaders who will carry the team this season.

Some of the players Taylor said to look out for this year:

Derek Loville – 6'3", 183 pounds. The wide receiver made the All-league first offensive team as a junior with 36 receptions.

Rashaad Boddie – 6', 222 pounds. The running back rushed 150 yards in the Eastlake game last year.

Cameron Saffle – 6'3", 225 pounds. The linebacker made the All-league first defensive team last year.

Chandler Wong – 5'8", 215 pounds. "He's not big, but he's a great high school football player," Taylor said of the three year starter. Taylor said Wong will not get a lot of notoriety, but could see him getting defensive MVP.

Riley Griffiths – 6'3", 250 pounds. Defensive lineman.
