Jon Kitna spent sixteen years as an NFL quarterback with four teams (Seahawks, Bengals, Lions and Cowboys), as well as a year with the Barcelona Dragons. He retired from pro football to return to his high school alma mater, Lincoln High in Tacoma, to teach Algebra, coach football, and most importantly, to motivate and guide young men to be and do their best. Jon returned to the NFL briefly this past season and made headlines, noto for his play, but for what he did with his salary.

Jon joined Margaret to talk about his pro career and what inspired him to return to Lincoln to motivate students to learn, in the classroom and on the field. He also talked openly about his troubled youth and his path to enlightenment and redemption through renewed faith.

He shared the the challenges and temptations faced by many of today's teenagers and how he tries to help his students and players learn to make better choices, through his Building Up R.E.A.L. Men program:

R - Reject passivity

E - Empathize with others

A - Accept responsibility

L - Lead courageously

Jon does not have a personal website or social media pages, but you can learn more about the work he's doing by clicking these links: Lincoln High School and Lincoln Abes Football Boosters.
