University of Washington volleyball player Krista Vansant was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I Player of Year at a banquet on Friday.

Vansant is a junior outside hitter for the Huskies and helped the team to the Final Four in the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championships.

She was also named the Pac-12 player of the year and was one of four UW players on the All-Pac-12 team.

The Huskies lost to Penn State in three games Thursday in the semifinal, eliminating them from play.

Vansant entered Thursday's game averaging 4.46 kills per set, 0.29 aces per set and 5.14 points per set.
