Governor Jay Inslee and First Lady Trudi Inslee joined Margaret to talk about how the government shutdown is affecting Washington State businesses and services, as well as update us about the glitches in the state's health insurance exchange website, which launched October 1st as President Obama's Affordable Care Act took effect.

They also shared some of their personal story - which began as high school sweethearts and spans 42 years of marriage and family, plus a career in politics, which led Jay from the State Legistlature to the US House of Representatives, to Washington State Governor. Trudi shared her passion for helping advocate for non-profits which focus on family, children and breaking the cycle of poverty. She also showcased some of the bounty from a community garden she helped plant on the grounds of the Governor's Mansion. The Governor shared his passion for environmental and clean energy issues (he co-authored a book, APOLLO'S FIRE: IGNITING AMERICA'S CLEAN ENERGY ECONOMY, in 2007), and his continued love of basketball (he plays on a team that raises money for charity).
