OKLAHOMA CITY - Nothing like a little extra inning drama to open the Women's College World Series. Washington sophomore Kimberlee Souza hit a first-pitch walk-off home run in the eighth inning to give the Huskies a 4-3 win over Nebraska on Thursday.

Washington took an early lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Kaitlin Inglesby. The Huskers came right back in the first to score on a sacrifice fly off starting pitcher Bryana Walker.

The Huskies had two chances to break the game open, loading the bases in both the third and fifth innings, only to come up empty.

Trailing 3-2 in the seventh inning, the Huskies used a triple by the speedy Victoria Hayward and a bunt by Hooch Fagaly to tie the game and send it to extra innings.

Inglesby picked up the win in relief.

Washington (44-15) will next play at 4 p.m. Friday against Tennessee.
