Uli Steidl, 40, of Seattle, won Sunday's 2012 Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon with a finishing time of 2:28:26. Steidl, who captured his ninth Seattle Marathon win, was one of nearly 10,000 people to cross the finish line.

The first female finisher for the full marathon was Kristen Carter, 25, of Bellingham, with a time of 2:47:04.

The half marathon was won by Jonathan Lafler, 22, of Maple Valley. He completed the 13.1-mile course in a time of 1:08:31. The first female to complete the half marathon was Rachel Jaten, 37, of Spokane, with a time of 1:21:18.

A total of 9,346 people competed in the events, including 2,156 participants in the full marathon; 70 in the full marathon walk; 6,499 in the half marathon run; 621 in the half marathon walk
