SEATTLE - A spokesman says the Washington state Democratic Party will pass along to others $70,000 in donations from Ramtha School of Enlightenment founder JZ Knight after the release of videos showing the spiritual leader making derogatory comments about Catholics, gays, Jews and Mexicans.

The Seattle Times reports that state Democrats will donate half the money to the campaign to support Washington's gay marriage law and half to the Anti-Defamation League.

The party resisted earlier calls to return the money.

The Times says more Knight videos were released Friday by a conservative Olympia think tank.

In a statement Friday through a spokesman, state party Chairman Dwight Pelz said while the party did not solicit any contributions from JZ Knight, it is important that we make it clear that we view her comments as offensive and do not condone this kind of vitriol.

A Knight spokesman did not immediately return a call for comment. Earlier, a spokesman said comments in a video were taken out of context.

Knight has thousands of students who listen to what she says is her channeling of the spirit of an ancient warrior named Ramtha.
