Last night closed out the 'Seattle International Film Festival', and it concluded with another uniquely northwest movie.

Before social media changed the face of politics, politicians did things the old-fashioned way. Grassroots is the true story of one such campaign here in Seattle back in 2001, when political newcomer, Grant Cogswell, decided to take on Seattle City Councilman Richard Mciver on the basis of a singular dream - to expand the monorail.

Jason Biggs, who plays Phil Campbell, and the director, Stephen Gyllenhaal, talk about the inspiration behind the characters as wellas the unique Seattle locations and even some localmusic!

Grassroots isa funny and touching tale about dreams, friendship, and politics. Please check it out when it opens in theaters in Seattle on June 22nd. You'll definitely enjoy it!
