BONNEY LAKE, Wash. -- Finally, some good news at the pump - prices are on their way down.

The latest numbers show Bellingham drivers are paying an average of $3.80 a gallon. In Seattle, the average price at the pump is $3.77 and people are paying $3.61 in Tacoma. And there appears to be a price war in Pierce County.

In Bonney Lake, gas sold for $3.25 a gallon and prices are expected to fall again over the weekend. Small mom and pop gas stations are trying to compete with the big retailers like Safeway, Costco and Fred Meyer to keep drivers going elsewhere and still make a buck.

It's great news for drivers, but experts say drivers should fill up now - low prices might not last long.

Those good numbers are the result of a wholesale price that finally dropped after a September and October that were higher than normal. But work that's going to begin next week on the Northwest pipeline could force station owners to surrender.

Another interesting factor: Hurricane Sandy actually helped gas prices in the Northwest. Without as many people driving or using gas on the East Coast over the last few days, there was more supply for drivers on the West Coast.
